The BX-187 handles the sound with a 4-inch driver and 20W of stereo output; the BX-710 picks that sound up through its built-in microphone and shifts colour and brightness in time with it. Put the pair on a desk or shelf and the room follows whatever is playing.
The BX-187 connects over Bluetooth 5.3 and also plays from USB, TF card, AUX and FM radio, so it is not tied to your phone. The 1500mAh battery gives hours of playback on a single charge (around four hours to top up), the HD microphone lets you take calls straight on the speaker, and voice control keeps it hands-free. It has its own RGB lighting built into the body as well.
The BX-710 is a full-colour RGB light with over 100 preset effects and scene modes. It works upright or on its side on the adjustable stand, and with a CRI of Ra96+ it doubles as a fill light for filming, streaming or product shots when the music is off.
Both units come with a one-year warranty and seven-day replacement.
